Twenty one years ago I wrote a book about my vacation in Hawaii with my sister. It felt important when I did it. I printed the B&W photos for it in my darkroom and typed out the text on an old Mac computer.
I showed it to friends and everyone liked it. I realized then how much I liked pairing images with text. The way it looked and felt wasn't like anything else being done at the time creatively, at least that I could see. I eventually got self-conscious about the format and put the book aside, moving on to doing more still photography only, without text.
Now many years later, I want to revisit that book for some clues about my next steps projectwise. I'll post some images once I dig them up and scan them. The words too.
